WHO GETS TO TAKE THEIR CHROMEBOOK HOME FOR THE SUMMER?
Students that paid insurance for the 2015-16 school year will be keeping their Chromebooks over the summer. Students who have unpaid tech fines and students who are in check in/check out will not be taking their chromebooks home over the summer. If you already know you will not be attending school here next year, please turn in your chromebook/charger/bag before you leave school after your last class.
WHAT IF I MOVE OUT OF THE DISTRICT OVER THE SUMMER?
If your family decides to move to a new district over the summer, please drop your Chromebook, bag, and charger off at the Central Office Monday-Thursday between 9:00am and 2:00pm. Central Office is located across the street from the high school.

WHAT IF MY CHROMEBOOK BREAKS OVER THE SUMMER?
There will be NO chromebook repairs done over Summer Break, so please take very good care of your device. If you do damage your Chromebook or if it becomes inoperable over the summer, please put it in a safe place for the rest of the summer and bring it with you when you pay your insurance in early August. The dates for Schedule Pick up, Locker Assignments, and 2016-17 Insurance Payments are Tuesday, August 2nd for Juniors and Seniors and Wednesday, August 3rd for Sophomores. You can drop off your chromebook with the tech department on those dates and they will try to get it repaired and back to you before school starts. You can bring your repair money when you drop off your chromebook or you can pay when you pick up your chromebook. Please refer to the following list of charges so you know how much money to bring with you.Chromebook Insurance:2016-17 Chromebook Insurance: $25
2016-17 AUP/Insurance Agreement, filled out and signed by you and a parent/guardian. (you have to fill out a new one every year)
Chromebook Repair Charges*:
Broken screen: $25
Missing charger: $15
Broken charger: no charge for replacement IF the damaged charger is brought in for exchange
Missing keys on keyboard: First 3 missing keys are free, $2 for each key after that, up to the replacement cost of the keyboard.
Full keyboard replacement - $25
Insurance Deductible: $70
*Additional fees may apply in cases of obvious abuse/neglect.WILL MY CHROMEBOOK BE MONITORED OVER THE SUMMER?
Yes, your Chromebook WILL be monitored over the summer. If any flagged activity in violation of the High School Student Acceptable Use Policy is detected, you will be put into restricted access or your account will be disabled, depending on the severity of the violation. Your account will not be taken out of restricted access/re-enabled until a conversation happens with one of the Principals when you return to school in August.
SUMMER DOS AND DON'TS:-Keep your chromebook in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.-Do not leave your Chromebook in a hot car or outside in the heat/sun for long periods of time.-If a key pops off, don't pick off the rubber nub that's underneath the key.-If your Chromebook is lost or stolen over the summer, you must file a police report and inform the tech department at 673-6010 ext. 286. Please refer to the Acceptable Use Policy for information about what to do if a chromebook is lost or stolen.
WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN SCHOOL STARTS IN AUGUST:
All student accounts will be disabled on Monday, August 1st. Your account will be re-enabled after your 2016-17 Insurance Payment is made and your AUP is turned in. Reminder, those dates are Tuesday, August 2nd for Juniors and Seniors and Wednesday, August 3rd for sophomores. If you cannot come in to pay insurance on those two days, tech department staff will be available on Wednesday, August 11 from noon-3 pm and also during Open House on Monday, August 15 to take insurance payments and re-enable accounts. If your chromebook needs to be repaired, please bring it with you when you make your insurance payment.
Current Check in/Check Out Students:
Your Chromebook will be available for you to check out on the first day of school, but you will need to turn in your 2016-17 AUP (signed by a parent/guardian) no later than Tuesday, August 23 or your account will be deactivated again until you turn it in. You can bring your signed AUP to one of the insurance collection days or you can bring it to the HelpDesk when school starts.
